He has a young daughter named Zea'la.
Kholya was with Khazat PD on A'qari, when the Theocracy of Gruul came in the name of their Reaper masters and razed half the planet. Kholya and Zea'la made it out, finding refuge on Illium for the duration of the war. When the relays were restored, they found that A'qari was no longer inhabitable. Luckily the Nos Astra Police Department was looking for recruits and Kholya had his prior service record to fall back on.
Kholya's family now consists of Zea'la and his cousin Talak.

It's unknown if he's related to Julmoth Ran'Obhol. On the subject, Julmoth had only this to say:
