The M-58 Kaji PDW (personal defense weapon) is a commercially-available submachine gun manufactured by Ariake Technologies, designed as a close-quarters substitute for an assault rifle. By being easier to both conceal and maneuver, the weapon has found a fairly large market with bodyguards and mercenaries. Though more powerful than an M-9 Tempest, the Kaji's recoil, cost, and maintenance issues limit its use outside of niche markets.

Out-of-character notes

  • Modem's inspiration for the Kaji was the Heckler & Koch MP7 submachine gun.
