The North Kelphic Valley Police is an uniformed police force, in likeness of the modern law enforcement services found elsewhere in Citadel space. It was founded on the orders of overlord Urdnot Wrex, in the year 2186 some months after the war's conclusion. Urdnot Prot, trusted lieutenant of the Urdnot overlord, has served as police commissioner of the NKVP since its inception.
The force is largely drawn from clan Urdnot krogan, as its jurisdiction is made up by said clan's holdings in the valley's city.
Known branches include preventive enforcement, customs and border control (under Trade and Border designation) and criminal investigation.
In terms of training, the force draws strongly from Turian Hierarchy military police tactics, as the CDEM garrison was the only source of expertise available at the conception of the force.
